The Pharmacy Porter is responsible for: Physical delivery of dispensed medication via the Prescription Tracking System Prioritisation of workload and timely delivery of medication Sort, file and archive prescriptions and other relevant paper as advised as per standard operating procedures Liaise with relevant ward Pharmacists and ward staff to provide an effective and efficient service Prepare the ward and departments bags ready for delivery Deliver pouches containing medicines to clinical areas and ensure that any prescription sheets collected from the wards are promptly delivered to the dispensary If delivering controlled drugs ensure that they are personally handed to a registered nurse and signed for Maintain and use the electronic Tracker system Assist in the delivery of urgent medication to the wards on an ad-hoc basis Ensure that all medication delivered is signed for by an appropriate member of staff
