About the Role
Chet Valley Medical Practice located in Loddon, are pleased to be recruiting a pharmacy technician to join our experienced in-house team on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week. The successful individual will have daily access to an experienced clinical pharmacist plus regular support and supervision sessions. Main duties will include: Undertake medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols and to update patients’ medical records/prescribing accordingly. Carry out medicine’s optimization tasks including effective medicine administration and technical medication reviews. Utilize consultation skills to work in partnership with patients to ensure they use their medicines effectively. Maintain full and complete records of all patient contacts using appropriate clinical templates and coding. Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new care home patients. Support the achievement of the practice’s prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets. Working with the dispensary manager/clinical pharmacist, contribute to the review and development of repeat prescribing protocols/standard operating procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of repeat prescribing systems. About the Candidate
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and attributes: Essential: Registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician. NVQ level 3 pharmacy services (or equivalent). Experience working within primary care. Understanding of prescribing and medicines management issues. Evidence of continuing professional development. Ability to use own initiative, discretion, and sensitivity. Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively with people at all levels by telephone, email, and face to face. Desirable: Experience in either a community pharmacy setting. Experience of prescribing systems such as SystmOne. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Knowledge of IT systems including the ability to use word processing skills, emails, and the internet to create simple plans and reports. About Us
Chet Valley Medical Practice is based within the village of Loddon in our spacious purpose-built premises. We have a list size of 9000 patients and cover an area including Loddon, Chedgrave and the surrounding villages including Norton Sub Course, Hoverston and Surlingham. We are currently on a journey of improvement and are looking for someone with the same ambition as us to provide excellent patient care within a safe and sustainable working environment. Chet Valley is a dispensing practice and has a full nursing team who deal with long-term condition management as well as two nurse practitioners, an outreach nurse and a paramedic who deals with most of our home visits. Benefits include 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
