We are looking for applicants with phlebotomy experience and who are competent in the use of the Vacuette system, but training will be provided to candidates with the right qualities to join this busy team.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a probationary period during which they will undertake a competency assessment supported by the team leader.

Main duties of the job To collect blood samples from patients in accordance with venepuncture, infection control, and laboratory policies and procedures. This will include collecting samples within the hospital and the Phlebotomy Clinic in order to achieve efficient and effective patient care and resource management within the hospital.

The post holder must be polite and diplomatic whilst speaking directly to medical staff or patients and provide advice solely on the process of obtaining samples within Phlebotomy.
