What the role involves
- Work with children who may be struggling with phonics, reading, lack language skills or have little confidence.
- Supporting pupils to apply comprehension strategies independently to reading tasks, contexts and subjects.
- Deliver 1-1 reading interventions suitable for primary aged children.
- Have a strong understanding and knowledge of phonics and different schemes, for example.
- Read, Write, Inc, Jolly Phonics, Letters and Sounds or Floppy Phonics etc.
- Have a good grasp of written and spoken English.
