Phonics Intervention Buddy focuses on work with children who may be struggling with phonics, reading, lack language skills or have little confidence.

What the role involves

• Work with children who may be struggling with phonics, reading, lack language skills or have little confidence.
• Supporting pupils to apply comprehension strategies independently to reading tasks, contexts and subjects.
• Deliver 1-1 reading interventions suitable for primary aged children.
• Have a strong understanding and knowledge of phonics and different schemes, for example.
• Read, Write, Inc, Jolly Phonics, Letters and Sounds or Floppy Phonics etc.
• Have a good grasp of written and spoken English.

Confirmed role details

• Milk Education are looking for a Phonics Intervention Buddy for a Primary School in Hindley Green (WN2) to work in a temporary, long-term position.
• This temporary Phonics Intervention Buddy role will involve keeping the children on task and ensuring that the work they doing is being done to a good standard.

Additional role context

• The Phonics Intervention Buddy role is to commence as soon as possible and will be an on-going role until July 2026 and the hours of work are 08:30am- 15:30pm, Monday to Friday.
