About the role… We are seeking an experienced Photography Manager to lead and inspire our team of in-house and freelance photographers in a luxury retail eCommerce studio. This individual will excel in team management and possess a deep technical expertise in lighting and studio operations, ensuring an exceptional standard of high-end eCommerce photography. The successful candidate will drive efficiencies in studio setups and Capture One workflow’s while championing creative elevation and consistency across all projects. This role is an opportunity to lead a talented team while contributing to the creative impact of Harvey Nichols' online presence. If you are passionate about eCommerce photography and driven by quality, we would love to hear from you. Provide proactive and flexible leadership to a team of four photographers, leveraging individual strengths to maximise team output. Collaborate closely with the Art Direction Manager on projects and testing initiatives to enhance studio performance and creative output. Assist the Studio Art Direction Manager with real-time reviews during peak periods, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand standards. Foster a cohesive team style in alignment with Harvey Nichols' visual standards. Offer feedback to management regarding team performance, freelance talent, and project outcomes, making recommendations as needed. Deliver expert guidance, training, and support to the photography team. Work with Studio Managers to achieve targets and team goals effectively. Oversee studio inventory, advising the Art Direction Manager on maintenance needs and replacements for backgrounds and consumables. Manage digital asset organisation across sets, including file naming, cropping, and processing to maintain consistency with platform specifications. Ensure accurate archiving of images for easy access across Harvey Nichols departments. Adhere to daily and weekly shoot targets. Set up and dismantle studio equipment, construct temporary sets during high-demand periods, and ensure optimal studio capacity. Maintain all photography software, sets, and workspaces to support efficient workflows for the team. Take full accountability for image quality and time management on set. Undertake additional duties as required. Is this you? We are looking for individuals who embrace diversity, love a challenge, are passionate about luxury retail and are looking for something uniquely different. Strong technical expertise in lighting and proficiency with Capture One. Proven experience in team leadership and development. Experience in luxury eCommerce photography across fashion and still life. Confidence in setting up studio lighting and seasonal sets for various product categories, such as hampers and beauty. Strong visual aesthetic with a keen understanding of luxury brands and composition. A team player, capable of collaborating and communicating across the business.
