We are currently seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our dedicated physiotherapy team at our Loughborough hospice. You will work closely with babies, children, and young people to provide exceptional, person-centered care. You will also collaborate with community teams, families and be an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team in delivering the highest standard of care. About us

Here at Rainbows Childrens Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. Simply put, we're here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are. Job responsibilities

Hours: This role is on a part time basis (22.5 hours per week), Monday to Wednesday. There is a requirement to work one late shift per week, times of 11:00am-7:00pm or 12:00pm-8:00pm. You will also be required to work one weekend per month on a rota pattern. Travel: There will be a requirement for you to travel within the East Midlands for external training, collaborative working with community teams and community visits on occasion. Our Benefits

To provide specialist physiotherapy care to babies, children and young people at Rainbows. Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to): To support with babies, children and young people's respiratory plans and escalation plans with support from the palliative care team. To assist with planning, organising and participate in hydrotherapy sessions with babies, children and young people in collaboration with the shift coordinator and care team. To keep up to date with developments in palliative care Physiotherapy and maintain clinical practice and procedures in line with current recognised best practice and research outcomes. To work as a member of the hospice multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the effective and efficient delivery of care to babies, children and young people and their families. To act at all times as an effective and positive role model. Requirements

Essential requirements include: Degree in Physiotherapy or completion of a Chartered Society of Physiotherapy accredited Masters Degree Course. Current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience working as a Band 6 Physiotherapist. Evidence of knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for children and young people with long term Palliative care and needs. Evidence of the ability to demonstrate safe clinical practice including risk assessment. Desirable requirements include: Evidence of working with children with complex care/special needs. Evidence of Teaching skills and experience. Palliative Care experience. Current registration with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Evidence of Experience of working with children with complex neurological needs. Qualifications

Degree in Physiotherapy or completion of a Chartered Society of Physiotherapy accredited Masters Degree Course. Current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Evidence of continued professional development (CPD). Hold or be willing to undertake training towards attaining trainer status in moving and handling techniques. Evidence of study at Post Graduate Level. Current registration with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Experience

Experience as a Band 6 Physiotherapist. Evidence of excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate both non-verbally and verbally and in writing with a range of people in different contexts. Evidence of knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for children and young people with long term Palliative care and needs. Evidence of Effective time management and organisational skills. Evidence of the ability to demonstrate safe clinical practice including risk assessment. Evidence of the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Evidence of personal insight/reflection skills-aware of own strengths and weaknesses, evaluating own practice. Evidence of the ability to manage difficult/challenging situations. Full driving licence. Willingness to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
