At The Marbrook Centre we are recruiting for a Physiotherapist with experience in Neurological Rehabilitation to work closely with the current Physiotherapy team and wider MDT. The team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychology, Therapy Assistants, GP and Consultant in Rehabilitation medicine. The post-holder will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment, providing comprehensive assessment and high quality therapy interventions to individuals who have transferred from acute hospitals. Clinical caseload is predominantly Stroke and ABI along with SCI and other varied neurological conditions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, families and staff, and utilise a wide array of resources and up to date technology such as: Well-equipped Therapy Gym (FES units, partial body weight support system, range of exercise equipment), Rehabilitation training/transitional living flat, Splinting/casting equipment and resources, Wheelchair accessible vehicles for community access/rehabilitation, iPads and other IT equipment. Main duties of the job

As a Physiotherapist at Marbrook you will be working with a dedicated caseload of patients and supporting them through from admission to discharge. You will be completing comprehensive assessments, designing high quality treatment plans and playing an active role in goal setting and discharge planning. You will take an active role in the key working process to support patients and their families through their rehabilitation journey. This will involve liaison with external agencies such as social services and being able to take the lead on making onward referrals. There will be opportunities to run/attend regular training and to provide supervision to assistants and students. CPD is actively encouraged through regular supervision, weekly in service training and funding provision for external courses. About us

The Marbrook Centre is a specialist Neurological Rehabilitation provider in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Since opening almost 9 years ago, The Marbrook Centre has developed a track record of consistently high quality therapy outcomes and positive feedback from individuals and families and our ICB partners on the rehabilitation and care experience. At Marbrook we put the individual at the centre of their rehabilitation and care with a significant focus on high quality communication between the staff, the individual and their family. Physiotherapy is a vital part of this process and is invaluable part of helping someone to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. The Marbrook Centre holds three services within the one building: Eden - Inpatient Rehab Unit - Providing intensive rehabilitation for people post-stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and other acute neurological conditions Bray - Long-term Nursing Unit - Providing nursing care for those with long-term neurological conditions Mayfield - Dementia Unit - Providing residential care for those living with dementia. The Physiotherapy team input daily into the inpatient rehabilitation unit; providing intensive rehabilitation for between 6-12 weeks, sometimes longer and provide advice and support for our longer term residents on an as required basis. Job responsibilities

Purpose of role: This post holder will be primarily responsible for designing and delivering rehabilitation programmes to help our residents achieve their goals. This post holder will be involved in supporting and coaching staff to achieve desired outcomes for their caseload. As this is primarily a clinical role, this post holder will have day to day contact and involvement with residents, their families and visiting professionals. Overall Responsibilities: Effectively manage a caseload of complex rehabilitation residents. Carry out in depth assessments and use these to formulate therapeutic plans. Deliver high quality person centred dynamic rehabilitation sessions. Effectively utilise outcome measures to monitor effectiveness of therapy interventions. Work closely with members of the MDT to support residents and families with Goal setting and discharge planning. Complete access and home visits for residents to aid discharge planning. To play a leading role in rehabilitation review meetings. Liaise with external agencies such as ICB's, social services, wheelchair services etc. Act as a key point of contact for residents and their family members. To produce high quality written reports and rehabilitation documentation. To participate in the recruitment of the rehabilitation service staff team as required. Contribute to regular clinics with Consultant in Rehabilitation medicine. Act as Clinical Educator for students on placement. Provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants. Provide clinical training and education to support workers. Take a leading role in CPD and personal development through regular supervisions. Play an active part in weekly MDT in service training programme. Contribute to service development projects and where suitable take a leading role in their creation and delivery. General Responsibilities: To keep accurate and clear documentation in line with sector specific and legal requirements. To participate in audits as required. To keep abreast of new developments in the profession, and to bring innovation and creative input to the role, for consideration and discussion with line manager. To attend all mandatory and developmental training courses relevant to the post and as agreed with the line manager. To work in accordance with all relevant legislation e.g. CQC standards, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty, Health & Safety at Work etc, and in line with The Marbrook Centres policies and procedures at all times, contributing (if and when appropriate) to the revision of these documents. To take an active role in own personal and professional development. To act in line with Health and Safety at Work legislation and requirements and in line with The Marbrook Centres approach to Health and Safety at all times. To act in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SoVA) at all times. To adhere to all aspects of security and ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors at all times. Qualifications

Degree in Physiotherapy Registered with HCPC Knowledge and Skills

A keen interest in treating people who have neurological conditions Sound knowledge of health & safety at work processes To be friendly and approachable Willingness to learn and develop Ability to work as part of a team Able to prioritise and work under pressure Good written and verbal communication skills Good quality IT skills Experience

Minimum 1 year post qualification experience. Experience working in neurological rehabilitation Evidence of Neuro specific CPD Experience of liaison with outside agencies e.g. ICB Experience of complex spasticity management Experience of using FES with a neurological caseload Experience completing MCA assessments and involvement in best interest decision making. Experience of staff support, recruitment, training & development processes Experience of supervising students Disclosure and Barring Service Check
