Location: St Andrews
·
Job offered by: NHS Scotland

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Intermediate Care Team based in St Andrews Community Hospital as part of the Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service (ICASS).

You will require NHS experience of working with adults, mainly older people, and have assessment and treatment knowledge and skills associated with this patient group. Patients are seen within the hospital wards, in their own homes, or as outpatients. The main focus of the team is preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital, and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes.

You will require a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC. Evidence of continuous professional development is essential. Evidence of involvement in audit and service development is required, along with experience in supervising junior staff.

There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites. The ability to travel throughout the area is essential as this post involves community working. Working hours flexibly over 7 days are part of developments within ICASS. Public holiday working is in operation (except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).

Our service offers regular supervision, PDP, and supports training opportunities.

Interviews will take place face to face.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
