You will carry a varied caseload of musculoskeletal complaints with a view to utilizing all treatment and care options as appropriate, with the support of a named supervisor.
Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out effective and appropriate assessments using knowledge and skills combined with clinical reasoning and contributing towards accurate diagnosis. Working with patients to identify and agree on treatment goals, delivering patient-centered care based on assessment outcomes, which demonstrate an appreciation of the complex interaction of risk, safety, patient choice, shared decision-making, independence, areas of conflict, and eligibility for the services. Using communication, reasoning, and negotiation skills to establish a working partnership with patients, families, and carers, identifying barriers to communication. Planning and leading patient group sessions as clinically relevant. Addressing all risk areas associated with individual patients’ ability to function. Contributing to effective discharge planning. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions/treatments using outcome measures. Representing the Physiotherapy Service within the multidisciplinary team and participating in relevant team/network meetings and clinics to contribute to the discussion and planning of patient care. Working with assistants and technical instructors regarding clinical caseloads and providing necessary support on clinical issues.
