You will undertake competency assessed support work with patients following guidelines which have been agreed and set by the qualified therapists.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week with occasional weekend shifts (paid via overtime currently). Flexible working applications will be considered. There is a full induction process and structured pay scheme with annual increments. A minimum of 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time staff). You will receive annual appraisals with identified career pathways and regular in-house training.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and support Therapists in the delivery of care to patients by treating patients in accordance with agreed guidelines and treatment regimes. This may include preparing equipment, tidying the department, administrative tasks, stock control, and supervised treatment of patients.
To assist patients in physical and functional treatment activities (individually or as part of a group) as directed by the Therapist, limiting scope of practice to those treatments for which training has been given. This could include assisting mobility with a walking aid, fitting splints, supervising exercises, etc.
To contribute to the service development projects in the department.
To develop and complete relevant competencies set for generic assistants.
