Physiotherapy Assistant Newcastle Hospital | Permanent | Full Time Salary up to £25,000 per annum dependent on experience 37.5 hours per week Our Physiotherapy Team at the Nuffield Health Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Physiotherapy Assistant.

The Nuffield Health Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital is a very established private hospital that specialises in a wide range of medical procedures and treatments, including among others orthopaedics, general medicine, plastics and sports medicine. The physiotherapy department provides care throughout the whole patient journey from the pre-operative to post-operative phase of a wide range of orthopaedic procedures. In addition to orthopaedic rehabilitation, the department offers musculoskeletal physiotherapy, pelvic health and hand therapy. The opportunity As a physiotherapy assistant you will be required to: Deliver high quality, effective clinical care under the supervision of our registered physiotherapists and nursing staff on the ward. Promote multi-disciplinary working alongside therapy, nursing teams, and fitness and wellbeing experts. Assist in the delivery of pre-operative arthroplasty education classes. Deliver rehabilitation programmes alongside the therapy team. Assist in safe discharge planning including organising social services input and home equipment if required. Engage in 1 to 1 conversations with rehab participants to offer coaching in terms of setting short term and long-term goals, understanding restrictions, monitoring progress, understanding and offering emotional wellbeing support, and empowering self-directed activity. Delivery of Nuffield's joint pain programme. Ensure that all clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements. Complete administrative duties and telephone work to support the therapy and nursing teams to enable smooth and efficient care throughout the patient journey. Be responsible for reviewing and reporting stock level and supplies to ensure the clinical environment is fit for purpose. Assist with cleaning of Physiotherapy equipment and infection prevention.

The person To succeed as a Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Assistant, you will need: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care. Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer or PT level 3 – CIMSPA or Physio in exercise referrals (desired but not essential). Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, ideally in a health care support or therapy assistant role, or community based physical activity programmes.
