An exciting opportunity has arisen to work alongside experienced physiotherapy clinicians in the area of Trauma and Orthopaedics at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Pontyclun.
You will carry out treatment programs under the guidance of a registered therapist to provide rehabilitation and other interventions to facilitate safe discharge. Some clerical and administrative tasks will also be undertaken (e.g., keeping records, filing, photocopying). You will be expected to work independently.
A positive and organized approach to rehabilitation is essential. Good communication skills and a commitment to team working within a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment are also needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who has previous experience as a therapy or rehabilitation assistant in an NHS or care setting.
The successful candidates will provide support to the therapy team on the Trauma and Orthopaedic wards in the day-to-day assessments of clients and delivery of Physiotherapy treatment programmes. They will be involved in assessment, progression, and discharge planning of this patient group and will be expected to utilize rehabilitation programs. You will be responsible for your own caseload, working both individually and alongside other members of the team. Your tasks will include gathering information about home circumstances, completing specific functional assessments, ordering equipment if needed, providing rehabilitation, and planning discharges.
The Band 4 role will also involve the timely planning of discharge and referral to onward community services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
