We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine & Cargo team at Marsh Specialty. This role will be based in London and requires working at least three days a week in the office. We are searching for an experienced and dynamic P&I Practice Head to lead our Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance brokerage team in the UK. Reporting to the CEO for Marine, Cargo and Logistics UK, the successful candidate will oversee P&I operations, develop strategic initiatives, and ensure exceptional service delivery to our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of marine insurance, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster relationships with clients, prospects, and stakeholders. We will count on you to: Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the P&I team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Client Relationship Management: Develop, manage, and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly. Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the P&I portfolio and enhance service offerings. Identify market trends and opportunities for business development within the P&I sector. Work with our Global P&I Head to develop thought leadership to assist our global network offices and retail clients. Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on P&I insurance products, coverage options, and risk management strategies. Stay updated on industry regulations, market developments, and best practices in marine insurance. Collaboration: Work closely with other teams within Marsh to ensure seamless service delivery. Collaborate with senior management to align P&I strategies with overall business objectives. Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met. Prepare and present reports on team performance, market trends, and business development activities to senior management. What you need to have: Bachelor’s degree and a professional qualification in insurance (e.g., ACII) is preferred. Extensive experience in marine insurance, with a focus on P&I. Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams, proactive client engagement, and driving performance. Strong understanding of P&I insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset. What makes you stand out?
