St Georges PICU/PSDU is looking for an experienced Charge Nurse/Sister to take on a Clinical Team Leader role PICU/PSDU.

Our mission is to deliver outstanding care at all times to patients treated in our PICU and PSDU and to do that, we need exceptional Leaders to join our team.

The Candidate should: Act as the professional role model, leading and coordinating the nursing team. Have continuous responsibility for the management & organisation of the ward/department. Be accountable for the overall provision of excellent nursing care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job: Responsible for all nursing, receptionist and housekeeping staff working in the Ward/department and support and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Develop the ward/department philosophy and models of care to ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented and lead on the development of nursing practice. Provide and support a high standard of clinical care, actively participating in assessment planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care. Assess the effectiveness of current practices within the ward/department and introduce innovations that lead to improved quality of care. Complete and ensure all staff complete relevant competencies for the paediatric unit and specific competencies to each clinical area to enable and support job role through appraisal thus ensuring high standards of clinical care. Minimum 5 years of continuous service in PICU (this includes HDU). Minimum 5 years in practice assessment and facilitation (practice supervision and assessment). Minimum 3 years of nursing Level 2 and Level 3 children in PICU/PSDU. Evidence of appraising colleagues in practice. Experience: Essential:

Evidence of 3 years of leadership as a nurse in charge in a level 3 facility. Experience in delegating tasks while leading a team. Leadership: Essential:
