Candidates must be in their penultimate year of University, on track for a 2:1 or above. Job Description For this industrial placement, we have two positions available. The purpose of these roles will be to support our Pricing and Risk team. The team primarily focuses on four topics: trading energy, modelling commodity markets and pricing tariffs. Position 1 - Trading and Risk Placement Analyst Quality Assurance Assist in the design and development of new and existing data models. Test and validate models to verify the correctness and reliability of their output. Actively communicate findings and present these findings back to the rest of the team. Create and maintain clear documentation and records. Energy Market Insights Build a well-rounded understanding of the energy markets. Monitor movements in the wholesale energy market and understand what fundamentals are driving these changes. Provide commentary on any changes and produce a regular bulletin to present back to the wider team. Trade Admin Support Maintaining accurate trade records. Recording deals carried out by the traders on our ETRM system. Frequent auditing of trade records. Position 2 - Costing and Compliance Placement Analyst Cost Analysis To understand the components that contribute to the cost of supplying a tariff. Regularly review costs and analyse the market to ensure the profitability of tariffs in the market. Compliance Conduct in-depth research on Ofgem policies, regulations, and guidelines related to the energy sector. Review and analyse policy documents to identify provisions, requirements, and potential implications for Rebel Energy. Summarize complex policy documents into concise and informative bulletins to share with the wider business. This placement will also allow you to undergo data analysis training with our data team to learn SQL, Python, PowerBI and more. About You You will be a good fit with Rebel culture, excited by our mission and ready to engage with the Rebel Way of Working. You will have a real problem-solving and solution-focused mentality. You will be able to demonstrate great verbal and written communication skills. You will have a desire to learn proactively and apply new things related to the commodity markets and the energy industries.
