Permanent About Us: We are recruiting on behalf of a leading building contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public sector framework schemes. With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a talented and experienced Construction Planner to join their team in either Bristol or Cardiff. The Role: As a Construction Planner, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our projects, working across both tenders and live projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner or a site/project manager with planning experience seeking a fresh challenge. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and programmes for both tenders and live projects. Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of projects. Collaborate with site teams, project managers, and clients to identify key milestones, risks, and opportunities. Prepare phasing plans, logistics strategies, and construction methodologies. Analyse project progress and provide accurate reports to stakeholders, identifying potential delays and recommending mitigation strategies. Support the tendering process by preparing programmes, methodology statements, and resource allocation plans. Use planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or equivalent to create and manage project schedules. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with the project programme. Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards in all planning activities. Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a construction planning role or significant planning experience gained as a site/project manager. Strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies across a range of sectors. Proficiency in planning software (e.g.Microsoft Project or Asta Powerproject). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing project schedules. A relevant construction qualification (degree/HNC/HND) or equivalent experience is desirable.
