Job Description GRAHAM is a large, independently owned Tier 1 Building contractor, working with clients across all sectors to build exciting, innovative, and functional buildings throughout the UK. The successful candidate will be an experienced Planner based both on-site initially in Manchester and Leeds, and at our Manchester offices. This role offers hybrid working, with a split between site, office, and home working.

Requirements

Proficiency in Asta Power Project is essential

Capability to manage the planning process from tender to contract closeout, including contract and target programmes

Ability to communicate the planning strategy to the wider team, project teams, and senior management

Accountable for providing expertise and systems for planning, scheduling, and project controls across various tenders and live projects in the North

Ensure all tenders and projects are planned to a standard that meets industry and company good practices, reducing risk/exposure to project margins from time-related issues

Manage planning, programming, and progress control as an integral member of the management team

Liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding all matters related to planning and programming

Ensure the production of fully integrated programmes that include design, procurement, consents, construction, and commissioning

Prepare and present reports on programme and progress, and attend and contribute to site meetings and other associated meetings

People management is key for this role

Technical and Behavioural Competencies

Project Scheduling: Proficiency in using project management software Asta Power Project

Critical Path Analysis: Understanding of critical path methodology

Resource Management: Skill in assessing resources to optimize project efficiency

Risk Management: Competence in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks

Construction Methods: Familiarity with various construction methods and best practices

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills

Construction Software: Familiarity with construction management software

Contract Management: Appreciation of contract terms and conditions

Site Inspection: Capability to conduct site visits and inspections

Team Ethos: Working as part of a team to achieve project goals

Stakeholder Relations: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Continuous Improvement: Commitment to process improvement

Construction Knowledge: Background in construction or a related field

Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of construction site safety protocols
