About the Role: Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Planner to join our team and play a vital role in the successful delivery of construction projects in the North East. This person will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive project schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Analyse project scope, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to create accurate and realistic schedules. Identify potential risks and constraints, developing mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery.

Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project deadlines and optimize efficiency. Monitor resource utilisation and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes and unforeseen circumstances.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress against planned schedules, identifying any deviations or potential delays. Prepare and present regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges. Develop and implement corrective action plans to address delays or issues.

Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to project schedules, developing mitigation plans and contingency strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with project teams, including site managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Communicate project schedules and updates clearly and concisely. Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.

Key Requirements: Proven track record as a Planner within the construction industry, preferably with experience working for a main contractor. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management techniques, and scheduling principles. Proficiency in using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
