We have an opportunity for a Planner to join our team in Sherborne.

Overall function and description of the job:

To plan and schedule production to meet business requirements as specified by sales orders, sales forecasts (VSF) and minimum specified stock requirements. To communicate changes in requirements, production schedules or delays.

Key Responsibilities:

Create production orders, based upon business requirements, taking care to optimise production processes to ensure efficiency and reduce cost, while meeting customer delivery expectations and confirmations.

Ensure all material is correctly specified in the production order as defined within the BOM (Bill of Materials) and routings, adjusting where necessary with suitable alternatives that have been previously agreed with the QA/Technical department.

Ensure that all relevant instructions are entered onto the production order to communicate effectively and provide documentary support.

Issue materials (stock) to production orders and communicate issue to the warehouse for physical movement of goods to production.

Issue schedules to production departments, communicating production priorities.

Estimate delivery dates/lead times for the Sales department for sales enquiries.

Monitor and progress chase late delivery of production to the warehouse.

Liaise with Purchasing and Production to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.

Liaise with Shipping and Warehouse to ensure all necessary details have been communicated to meet shipping and packing requirements.

Represent planning at meetings as and when necessary.

General administration related to production planning.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Previous experience in production planning or a similar environment is essential.

Effective communication and listening skills are required.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong administration skills.

Proficient IT skills.

Experience working with SAP software is preferred.
