The Production Planner will form an integral part of the production team. With a strong, solid background in scheduling; the candidate will take a lead approach in scheduling the shop floor ensuring the correct materials are in the right place at the right time. The role is key to leading the Company forward in forecasting correct completion of WIP. Main Duties/Responsibilities

Prioritise materials/issues through the supporting functions, e.g. Goods In, Stores, Dispatch, Purchasing, and shared resource areas. Continuous liaising with the purchasing team to understand material availability. Ensure traceability is met on all work orders moving through the shop floor. Raise and control Works Orders in line with MRP exception messages. Release Works Orders in line with Master Scheduled Plan. Work closely with operation cell leads and purchasing to create a build plan. Also continually update the order book execution tools with this plan so the business has visibility of any potential late deliveries. Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager. Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors. At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction. On occasion you will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments. No staff management responsibility, however, guidance will need to be given to other members of the team at times of planned absence such as annual leave. Limits of Fiscal/Management Authority
