Our client, based in Yeovil (BA20), are seeking a Planner who is an adaptable individual, highly customer focused with commercial interest and has experience in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment. This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week until January 2025 with the possibility of extension.

Main Purpose:

The Planning role is responsible for developing and maintaining the project master schedule in accordance with the contract, through direct liaison with other business functions. Ensuring the integrity of data throughout the project life cycle. Preparing reports to provide project status information to the programmes team and customer. Identifying schedule, cost variances, and working with the programme team and directly with business functions to establish corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Project teams to ensure timely monthly updates and to perform critical path and 'what if' schedules. Ensure the schedule and SAP data are aligned to identify any data inaccuracies and proactively strive to correct any issues. Assess progress and analyse the impact of forecast changes (schedule and financial) to identify threats at the earliest opportunity. Control the project baseline (schedule and financial) to reflect any contracted amendments. Control the allocation of contingency reserve and updates to the schedule baseline ensuring alignment to the risk register. Produce internal and customer reports to confirm the project cost and schedule variance, future key milestones and to include earned value analysis. Generate purchase requisitions and perform service receipts to support project requirements. Provide planning support to the project teams.

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment. Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project (as core planning tool) and other common Microsoft packages. Excellent analytical and planning skills with good attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a team setting and to provide leadership when required. Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals & priorities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
