Planner or Intermediate Planner

to join our team in Christchurch. Working in a small, friendly and collaborative Planning team, this is a key role to shape the future of our urban environments. From small and unique to complex and large scale, you’ll contribute to diverse projects that include strategic and policy planning, resource consenting and designations as well as feasibility and advisory services. You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, urban designers and environmental specialists to enhance our environment and deliver integrated planning solutions. Key responsibilities include: Contribute towards the delivery of various planning projects including feasibility assessments, preparing and processing resource consent applications, policy planning, and master planning for residential subdivisions and commercial developments. Provide best-practice planning advice and strategic solutions that balance the needs of our clients with the broader community and the environment. Work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams and communicate proactively with clients to build long-term and meaningful relationships. Keep up to date with latest developments in planning and legislative changes. Your skills and experience Whether you are already an experienced Planner or a Graduate Planner looking to take the next step in your career, we welcome you to apply or reach out for a discussion. We value diverse and unique experiences that could contribute to our team. Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, urban development, or a related field is required. Membership or eligibility for membership with the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) is desirable. 2+ years experience in planning is required, with a strong understanding of the RMA and local planning frameworks. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment or within a Council is desirable. Experience of infrastructure consenting, and related policy development is desirable. Excellent verbal and written communications skills plus the ability to establish collaborative relationships at multiple levels. Personal leadership, motivation, and self-management skills.
