Planning and Inventory Manager

to bridge customer needs with operational requirements, ensuring seamless planning and supply chain efficiency. This pivotal role spans strategic and operational responsibilities, managing planning horizons from the short term to the long term while guiding and empowering a team through change and growth. is part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and is the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance drylining and insulation solutions. This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in our head office at East Leake with occasional travel required to other plants nationally. What we’re looking for: We’re seeking a dynamic leader with: In-depth knowledge of operations, supply chain, and customer requirements. Proven expertise in leadership, change management, and problem-solving. Experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred) or a similar ERP system, paired with strong digital competence. Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. A forward-thinking approach, thriving on process improvements and change management. What you will be doing: You will lead and inspire a team that oversees scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management for raw materials and finished goods, distribution, and supplier coordination. Your ultimate goal? To optimise customer service while minimising costs and reducing environmental impact. Day to Day you will: Manage stock levels and create robust strategies to address supply and demand uncertainties. Develop cost-effective, customer-focused supply strategies. Oversee inventory processes across facilities, including £10m offsite inventory. Ensure KPIs such as working capital management and customer satisfaction are met. Lead interworks planning and communicate requirements to the distribution team. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support integrated tactical planning and decision-making. Collaborate across functions to enhance supply chain performance and align strategies. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring continuity of supply and data integrity in SAP systems. Drive innovation and continuous improvement through strategic projects and digital solutions. Create and execute a clear vision for the planning and inventory department. Develop talent through recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning. Foster a culture of collaboration and customer focus, ensuring high performance and career progression within the team.
