is assisting a London Based Local Authority with their recruitment for a
Locum Planning Lawyer
to join their team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx
with a proven track record in handling a diverse range of
planning law matters , ideally within a public sector setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable and motivated lawyer seeking to make a meaningful contribution to a dynamic team. Duties include: Advising on all aspects of planning law, including planning applications, appeals, and enforcement. Drafting, negotiating, and completing legal agreements such as Section 106 Agreements and other related planning obligations. Representing the council at planning committees, which take place every other month. Managing a caseload of planning law matters and providing pragmatic legal advice to officers and elected members. Providing guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders on complex legal issues. Requirements: Local Government experience
is desirable but not essential, provided the candidate demonstrates significant expertise in planning law. Experience in handling
committee attendance
