Main Responsibilities On a day-to-day basis, the successful Plant Manager's responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following: Accountable for the safety, leadership, and financial performance of the operation at the Derby ready to use plant. Lead in all aspects of Safety to ensure the safe operation of the site is in line with Tarmac standards. Drive the mortar operations strategy working alongside the Operations Manager in ensuring delivery of safe, profitable, and efficient plant operations. Lead the implementation of an operations plan that meets the needs of the commercial strategy and is customer focused. Lead delivery of operations performance to meet or exceed targets for cost of production, quality, OTIF, waste, OEE, energy usage, and working capital and report on performance to the mortar operations manager. Develop and coach the operational mortar team, including agreeing stretching performance objectives that are reviewed regularly through performance reviews. Direct and support Continuous Improvement projects & Preventative Maintenance Programmes and participate in the identification of opportunities to improve performance in terms of utilisation, costs, safety, and quality. Direct and support teams in delivering exceptional quality performance with a focus on complaints, cost of deliveries, and new product development. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive previous management skills, and the experience of managing a function or team in a results-oriented environment. As well as possess excellent knowledge of the Manufacturing Process and/or Production operations in a similar heavy industrial/chemical environment with a good awareness of safety, quality, and environmental issues and legislation.
