Description
Marlborough Highways has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Mechanic to join our fantastic team. Based in Chelmsford but working across five depots in Essex and North London, this position will be integral to ensuring that our fleet of vehicles and plant are kept in good working order to support our projects across Essex and London. A company van will be provided to travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities
Working across the five depots (Chelmsford, Southend, Hackney, Brentwood, and Haringey), be responsible for undertaking the scheduled and ad-hoc repair, servicing, and maintenance of all heavy and light commercial vehicles and plant. Workshop based predominantly but time spent on-site carrying out routine maintenance & breakdowns. Working within a small team, ensure repairs are dealt with promptly and recorded accurately within the in-house electronic system. Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards. Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection. Diagnosing of vehicles using diagnostic equipment. Attending breakdowns and rectifying defects. Good housekeeping and H&S requirements. Ensure all paperwork is completed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Hold qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance. Experience in a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance environment. Strong technical background and the ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively. The successful applicant will have previous working experience as a HGV Mechanic. Full UK driving license essential. HGV licence preferred but not essential.
