Belcan Workforce Solutions is offering a 12-month + contract opportunity (long term) for a Plant / Process Operator at the Fife site of a multinational oil and gas corporation. This full-time, on-site position falls within the IR35 framework.

Main Functions

Responsible for liaising with the Control Room Technician (CRT) and other Operations Technicians on job safety requirements to ensure understanding of the work objectives, safety, health, environmental, Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS), and security concerns. Responsible for supporting the CRT/Ops Supervisor in providing oversight of the area activities and ensuring they are integrated and conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Works in a crew environment to manage activities involved with safe and efficient operation of all plant units and sulphur recovery operations. Performs surveillance of equipment. Responsible for assisting the process operations team in the field in a supporting role to achieve operational excellence and continued safe operations. The candidate will perform all tasks with personal safety as a priority.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Work cooperatively with Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work. Safely perform physical tasks e.g. moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders/tanks. Offloading various chemical tankers. Performing operational safety checks on Emergency Equipment. Lubrication system top ups. Filter cleaning on process equipment. Fugitive emission surveying. Forklift duties. Performing sample analysis of various process streams. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in work area and taking ownership for issues identified. Chemical inventory management. Safety critical & product quality equipment checks/minor maintenance. Temporary equipment setup. Third-party contractor hosting.

Skills and Qualifications

Industry experience in petrochemical operations, or similar preferred. Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others. Excellent communications (oral & written) in English. Forklift driver experience desirable. Computer Literacy required (emails, word, excel etc).
