Full-time Description: Embark on a journey where you'll lead the charge to Platform Engineering on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specializing in a new Google Cloud and Data Engineering initiative. Drive the evolution of our data infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and scalability across all platforms. As a Platform Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing advanced cloud solutions, enhancing our data-driven capabilities. Location:

Belfast, NI (Hybrid) Responsibilities: Collaborate with data science and development teams to optimize data workflows and infrastructure, ensuring efficient and robust data processing on GCP using Looker and Big Query. Innovate and solve complex data challenges, leveraging GCP's capabilities to deliver high-performance solutions. Define and establish best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring consistent and scalable deployments. Lead the automation of data pipeline deployments, focusing on reliability and observability. Provide expert guidance on platform architecture, ensuring alignment with cloud best practices and data engineering principles. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Strong experience in GCP, with an emphasis on data engineering and infrastructure management. Proficiency in Terraform for managing GCP resources. Strong Python scripting skills, with a focus on automating data engineering tasks. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration in data processing environments. Passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex data challenges and improve platform efficiency. Additional Information: Hybrid working (1-3 days a week in the Belfast office).
