Platform Engineering Manager , you will support your team through a combination of coaching, direction-setting, career management and some hands-on engineering. Your team will design, prototype, and implement the fundamental systems which underpin Hytale’s game services and supporting infrastructure. Who you are: Attentive Leader:

You have experience with and a passion for building backend services in support of data driven, scalable gameplay systems. Adaptable:

You are comfortable with switching gears between optimization, break/fix, and development and understand the need for rapid re-prioritization. Quality Aware:

You know and care how your team’s code affects cost, reliability and maintainability. Some of your role: Manage a team of 3-6 engineers through a combination of coaching, mentoring, direction-setting, and hands-on engineering Performance management including writing and delivering reviews Work closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to prioritize, break down, and select work for your team Work closely with gameplay and systems engineers and transform their feature requests into well specified deliverables. Architect, plan and review implementations of web services and tooling written in Golang and Python. Create detailed and highly-accessible documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders 6+ years of professional programming experience in systems languages (Golang, C++, Java, Rust) 6+ years working on scaled backend services and infrastructure. 2+ years as a manager or in a similar leadership role Strong understanding of distributed systems, observability, software development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure.
