We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Platform Manager to join the Product Innovation team of an award winning Academic publisher. This role is integral to managing a successful eBook platform used by scholarly communities across the globe. You'll ensure it meets the evolving needs of academic library customers while driving it forward through an exciting new phase of development.


Role Details:


Salary: up to £40,000

Location: 2 set days in London or Oxford

Holiday: 25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays

Full time / permanent role

Key Responsibilities:


·Oversee day-to-day platform operations, troubleshooting, and monthly content releases

·Act as a product expert, addressing technical and user inquiries, and collaborating on strategic platform development

·Coordinate with developers, UX, and product management to optimize platform functionality

·Manage platform testing and quality assurance, ensuring new features are robust and user-ready

·Communicate updates and enhancements across sales, marketing, and customer support teams

·Analyse platform usage metrics to guide improvements and enhance the user experience.

·Partner with the UX team and conduct user research to continually refine the platform in line with scholarly needs


Candidate Profile:


We are looking for someone with proven experience in managing a digital product, website, or eBook platform, strong project management and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail. You will possess clear, effective communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Additionally, you'll be able to show a technical aptitude, including (preferably) experience liaising with developers and managing complex systems. Knowledge of web analytics and interpreting data to inform product strategies is desirable.

Other desirable skills and experiences include familiarity with the academic books market and experience with XML or eBook formats.
