Play Area Inspector – Wandsworth

A vacancy has arisen at our Wandsworth Parks and Housing Contract for a Play Area Inspector and maintenance position. This post will report to the Contract Manager and will have responsibility over the inspections and maintenance of the play and outdoor gym equipment throughout the Borough. Main Purpose Of The Post Ensure a fully integrated approach is taken to the delivery of all aspects of the day-to-day play and gym equipment inspections and maintenance, in accordance with the Wandsworth Parks and Housing playground contract specifications, including plant/equipment inspection and maintenance, and all health and safety matters. Responsible for carrying out routine and operational playground inspections on play equipment, outdoor gym equipment, multi-use games areas (MUGA’s), park furniture and surfaces. Be a key client and public interface with responsibility for the safety of all play and gym areas within the Borough and preparing and delivering internal and external reports. Personal Qualities Ability to work on own initiative and effectively manage teams Ability to achieve deadlines Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels Good level of written skills e.g. completion of all paperwork Set a personal example of commitment and enthusiasm Courteous and polite in dealing with others Skills Previous experience of working in Playground maintenance (desirable) Ability to organise and plan workloads Detailed knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices Understanding of contract and client standards Qualifications Full UK Driving Licence – essential Playground inspection qualifications (desirable)
