Jonathan Lee Recruitment is partnering with a Telford based manufacturing business looking to hire a PLC software engineer to join their Engineering Development team, in a role focused towards delivering continuous improvement projects with their portfolio of bespoke in house built systems.

The role would suit an engineer with a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and PLC programming experience, excited by learning new techniques and technology to help deliver End-to-End Involvement, experiencing the full lifecycle from initial concept to final delivery. The key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Developing subject matter expertise in Siemens/Schneider PLCs. Analysing system requirements and developing control system models that align with project specifications and functional needs. Collaborating with business stakeholders, providing technical leadership and programming expertise in a professional manner to drive improvements and new developments supporting lead development engineers in continuous innovation and improvement. Working in the role with a digital transformation mindset, driving enhancements and improvements from project discovery to implementation.

To be considered as a suitable candidate for the PLC Software Engineer role, we are looking for the following qualifications and experience:

HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. High level of mathematical and written skills. Experience in PLC programming expertise and fault diagnosis experience - specifically Siemens & Schneider, although others considered. Design for functional safety & SCADA experience would be beneficial.
