THE CLIENT: My client needs a PLC Controls Engineer to work on the development, support and integration of industrial PLC control systems on special purpose equipment for demanding applications. JOB CONTENT: Develop, program, improve, test and integrate PLC based machine control systems and HMI's that meet customer and industry standards and operational safety requirements. Test, commission and support existing control systems. Investigate how new control technologies could be integrated to enhance the companies product offering. Support design changes and the engineering change process. Interact with all levels of customers and company personnel to keep projects on track, working closely with electrical, mechanical and project engineers. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: A recognised qualification in engineering supported by appropriate further training. Experience of industrial control systems, PLC's, HMI's and a range of PC, PLC, control and development software. Some PLC and general programming ability using visual tools. A keen interest in and ability to learn new control software and interface technologies. A broader engineering understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. The ability to work to customer and industry safety and quality standards. Be organised with attention to detail, able to plan projects, manage multiple tasks and your time productively. Strong communication skills and be confident liaising with customers and colleagues. The desire to learn, develop and improve your control systems knowledge and capability.
