The Role: As a PLC Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing process, ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently. To do this, you will: Design and develop PLC programmes for our existing and upcoming automated production lines. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance. Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades on PLC systems to keep our technology at the forefront of the industry. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to implement process improvements and enhance productivity. Train and support production staff in the operation of PLC-controlled equipment.

About You: Experience: Theoretical knowledge, gained through related study or on-the-job experience, of PLC programming, HMI, and industrial automation. Knowledge of Schneider and Allen Bradley platforms is an advantage. Practical application of PLC programming knowledge from design to implementation stages, either within an education-based project, or projects in a previous PLC Controls Engineer role preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Skills: Problem-Solver: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying root cause issues and driving workable solutions. Communication: Articulate in verbal and written communication appropriate to the situation and your audience. Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, gaining input across multiple functions to ensure compliance in engineering projects.
