JOB DESCRIPTION
FEMALE Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 14 year old girl living in the Rhydyfelin area with my family. I enjoy sensory play, swimming, painting, and generally making a mess. I have a cheeky sense of humor and can communicate my needs using my eyes. I have a diagnosis of Rett syndrome, which affects brain development, resulting in mental and physical disability. I also have scoliosis and am awaiting an operation.
I am non-verbal and communicate primarily through basic needs like hunger or thirst. I am on medication for seizures, which are currently controlled.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To help me gain confidence and independence while supporting me in activities I enjoy, and providing respite for my parents.
PLACE OF WORK
Out in the local community.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours fortnightly.
RATE OF PAY
£12.75 per hour; mileage and expenses will be compensated where applicable.
TASKS INVOLVED
Swimming and participating with me Going to the park Going to the cinema Visiting Amelia Trust farm or any place with animals Going for food and assisting with eating Personal care (nappies) Assisting with feeding as I eat slowly
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Car driver with access to a car and business class insurance Preferably female due to personal care needs Calm and patient demeanor Caring and supportive personality
ABOUT THE JOB
This part-time position requires a National Insurance number. A trial period will be necessary initially. Payment will be made monthly with appropriate holiday pay. The position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check, which will be funded by the employer. Relevant checks will ensure the right to work in the UK.
