Scotland’s animal champions. What does a PMO Analyst do? As a PMO Analyst, you will be involved in all aspects of PMO activities to support high-profile projects, programmes, and portfolios for our organisation. Depending on the project, you may get the chance to manage small to medium scale projects under supervision. Overview of main duties and responsibilities Facilitate the planning process including development of project plans and ongoing maintenance of these plans to ensure careful tracking of key milestones and deliverables. Ensure production of core project reports is completed to a high standard including status reports, RAID logs, change requests, and project dashboards. Identification and management of risks, issues, and dependencies and escalating where required to ensure timely implementation of mitigating plans. Own the tracking and analysis of budgetary information across the full project portfolio and collaborate closely with senior leaders to develop recommendations. Perform secretariat duties for Committees and other senior-level steering forums including preparation of agenda, collation of MI/reporting, and minute taking where needed. Manage small to medium projects under supervision to support overall successful delivery of the client engagement. Provide professional guidance about project management to colleagues across the organisation, including project managers and senior responsible owners. Support assurance reviews of programmes/projects as appropriate and help oversee implementation of recommendations stemming from these reviews. Ensure the agreed project management methods, standards, and processes are being followed throughout the project lifecycle. Produce regular analysis and reporting on the progress of projects and programmes. What makes a good PMO Analyst? Currently working towards/or an interest in Project Management qualifications e.g. Prince2, APMP, and ISEB. Knowledge of Project Office industry best practice and methodology. Knowledge of Project & Programme Management industry best practice and methodology. Experience with supporting PMO roles and owning elements of the end-to-end project, programme, and portfolio management activities. Experience working with reporting and tracking tools. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise workload based on business needs is essential. Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality outputs. Effective and flexible communication skills. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work positively and sensitively alongside stakeholders. Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite, particularly strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Manages own time efficiently. Pro-active and solutions-focused, tackling barriers to success as quickly and effectively as possible. Can bring others along with your positive approach and excellent communication skills. Embrace challenges, flexible, and able to adapt as you learn. We are fortunate that some of our roles attract a high level of interest; therefore, we may have to close roles earlier than advertised.
