Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a PMO Analyst for an initial two month contract, with the potential to extend, on a rate of £375/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. Responsibilities: You will be working within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), helping to maintain oversight of the projects and programmes that contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s digital strategy objectives. You will be an integral member of the team, helping to provide information, insight and support to strengthen the portfolio governance and enable portfolio decisions and the effective allocation of resources across the portfolio: The main duties may include: Helping to identify, categorise and prioritise new initiatives that form part of the digital services portfolio roadmap. Supporting portfolio resource capacity planning, tracking the allocation and utilisation of resources across projects and other change initiatives. Identifying and monitoring portfolio risks. Helping to develop mechanisms for measuring benefits. Maintaining the portfolio delivery roadmap and a view of projects on the critical path. Co-ordinating project and programme report and analysing performance. Maintaining portfolio artefacts and assets. Curating, presenting and sharing information with stakeholders and senior managers. Essential Skills: Experience of a range of project, programme and portfolio management functions including planning, risk management and governance. An understanding of PMO frameworks and methodologies, including an understanding of both waterfall and agile project management practices. Familiarity with budgeting, cost management and resource planning processes. Ability to provide independent assurance whilst working collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team. Awareness of benefits management and how it may be used to help inform investment decisions. An openness to innovation and change. Excellent verbal and written communication skills utilising a range of channels suitable for the intended audience. Desirable Skills: Professional project management, agile management or PMO certification e.g. Agile PM, Prince 2, P3O or similar. Experience of using MS Project for the Web/Online, SharePoint, Power BI and Power Automate in a PMO context. If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
