Newcastle-upon-Tyne Description As PMO Lead at Bede, you'll be at the heart of driving success across our Portfolio Management Office. You'll take ownership of managing, governing, and coordinating programmes and projects within our portfolio, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You'll also inspire and develop your team, equipping them with the skills and support they need to thrive. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle-upon-Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you're comfortable with this arrangement. What you'll be doing Line management of project management team including skills development & succession planning. Contribute to and execute the PMO strategy, upholding and improving PMO standards across the organisation. Build strong relationships with other PMO leads to ensure a consistent approach to project and programme management and foster collaboration across all PMO locations. Oversee the successful delivery of programmes and projects, using the most suitable delivery methodologies. Act as the primary escalation point for projects and programmes within your team and the wider PMO. Own and manage risk across the PMO, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation. Take responsibility for delivery information, including data collection, tracking, and ensuring all information is accurate and accessible. Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure adherence to standard governance processes for all projects and programmes. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with business objectives. Oversee supplier and third-party management on relevant projects, ensuring effective partnerships. Maintain clear, accurate, and timely reporting to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency in all communications. Support the resourcing process to ensure effective allocation and utilisation of resources. Collaborate on the ongoing improvement of PMO processes, using data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and delivery. Take on any additional duties that align with the role and are deemed reasonable. What we are looking for Formal project management qualification or equivalent experience in programme delivery or a PMO-type role. Experience or strong understanding of a variety of project management methodologies. Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with a passion for developing high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to manage change and effectively guide teams through transitions. Strategic thinker with the ability to align project goals with broader organisational objectives. Solid experience in planning and scheduling to ensure successful project delivery. Expertise in risk management, including proactive identification and mitigation of risks. Experience in benefits realisation and tracking to ensure programmes deliver measurable value. A background working on a diverse range of projects and programmes. Solutions-focused problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach. Excellent communication skills, with experience in project governance and stakeholder management.
