23 January 2025 Locations: HMP Aylesbury HMP Exeter HMP Channingswood About the Role As a Senior Podiatrist in Offender Health, you will be responsible for the clinical assessment and treatment of patients within HMP settings. Your role will involve diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans in collaboration with patients, and maintaining accurate records while working autonomously. Your Day to Day Manage your own clinical caseload, including the coordination of waiting lists with the HMP site. Ensure compliance with all professional standards and PPH policies and procedures. Clinical Responsibilities:

Take professional and legal responsibility for all aspects of your caseload, ensuring high-quality patient care. Organise and prioritise your caseload effectively, taking into account clinical needs and time management. Assess patient capacity, obtain informed consent, and work within a legal framework for patients who may lack capacity. Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients, including those with complex needs, and create individualised treatment plans. Provide a wide range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care based on patient needs. Offer advice to patients to support appropriate self-care where suitable. Communicate effectively with patients and carers to ensure understanding of their condition and treatment. Provide specialist advice and training to other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) as required.

Professional Responsibilities: Maintain your clinical professional development (CPD) by staying current with trends and developments in podiatry. Participate in CPD activities, including attending and delivering training sessions, attending external courses, and engaging in reflective practice. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the delivery of coordinated and effective care. Participate in performance appraisals and create a Personal Development Plan (PDP). Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of your work through audits, evidence-based practice, and outcome measures. Demonstrate an understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and apply these principles to your practice. Represent Premier Physical Healthcare externally, sharing insights on the podiatry services provided. Promote the company’s objectives to patients' families and carers when appropriate. Perform any other duties as required by the Senior Operations Manager. Organisational Responsibilities: Take responsibility for your designated work area, ensuring efficient and effective patient management. Prioritise patient care based on clinical best practice and available resources. Maintain and ensure competence in the use of all relevant equipment. Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation in line with legal and company requirements. Contribute to the collection of data and outcome measures, including audits. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, reporting any issues promptly. Adhere to company policies and industry standards set by the Royal College of Podiatry and the Health and Care Professions Council. Benefits: 28 days annual leave (plus 3 buy-back days).
