Job Title: Policy & Advocacy Manager (Refugees and Asylum) Job Location: UKO London Moorgate, Hybrid Home & Office Salary: £44,188 to £48,327 per annum based on 35 hours per week (Plus ILW if applicable) Contract Type: Permanent Could you as the Policy & Advocacy Manager (Refugees & Asylum) be responsible for designing and delivering policy and advocacy programmes that improve the lives and experiences of refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK? What will a Policy & Advocacy Manager's job involve?

Design and deliver policy advocacy strategies and plans for our work related to the UK asylum system. Lead on developing policy solutions for people seeking asylum and refugees in the UK. Identify evidence gaps and work with British Red Cross research functions and external partners to produce impactful research. Provide strategic and tactical advice, including to senior management as needed. Ensure the experiences of the people we support through our services are reflected throughout our policy and advocacy work. Leadership of the Refugee and Asylum Policy team and line management of Senior Policy Officers. What will a Policy & Advocacy Manager need to be successful?

Significant experience of roles within public/social policy, advocacy or similar. Demonstrable understanding of evidence-based public policy making. Demonstrable understanding of how to deploy evidence and research to support policy advocacy. Proven and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy ideas into a persuasive format for a variety of audiences. Experience of working with colleagues to design and deliver engagement and influencing strategies. Experience of building impactful relationships with external stakeholders and decision-makers. Demonstrable understanding of how to effectively support the delivery and development of others. Experience of successfully managing a number of different projects at any given time, completing them to a high level of quality.
