Looking for a great opportunity to ensure great work-life balance while applying your skills in the development of key council documents? In this role, you will lead and support the creation and review of Council's policies, strategies, plans, and bylaws. You'll also play a key role in sustainability initiatives and provide valuable evidence-based analysis for Council documents like the District Plan and Long-Term Plan. We're offering a flexible, part-time role (20 hours per week) where you can put your multitasking skills and keen attention to detail to great use — all while contributing to your community as part of a supportive Council team. The salary range for this position is $45 to $50 per hour with the appointed starting level dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate. About You

We're looking for someone who knows how to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and thrives on variety. If you love organising, solving problems, and digging into the details, you'll fit right in. You are an energetic and enthusiastic team player who has a keen eye for detail and accuracy, a well-organised self-starter who is able to manage multiple activities at once. You have appropriate qualifications in a relevant field and preferably five years or more of experience in policy planning within local, regional, or central government and knowledge of key New Zealand standards and relevant legislation. You will have good administrative, coordination and time management skills and a high skill level with Microsoft Office products. Why work with us?

Our staff will tell you the main reason they like working with us is "the people". We have an energetic work environment with plenty of laughter and a great staff culture is important to us. Our customers and our communities are at the centre of what we do, and our people are what makes it work. We like to look after our own. If you join us, you will also benefit from ongoing professional development, te reo learning assistance, regular health checks opportunities, subsidised pool visits, an active social club, and free car parking!
