This job application is restricted to applicants in the UK only. Does the housing sector really interest you? We have an opportunity to join us as a full-time Policy Officer. What you’ll be doing Your days will be interesting and varied. You’ll be using your research skills to obtain useful insight into how other organisations are adopting policies in respect of housing issues. You’ll then use this research to lead on the review and development of existing and new policies. You’ll collaborate with key colleagues to understand the needs of the business and you’ll work with customers in consultation on all customer-facing policies. You will be required to deliver policy review from start to finish, creating well-written reports that are presented to senior leadership teams, governance colleagues, and customer panels. About you You will already have experience of working in the housing sector, with an understanding of the housing regulatory environment, ideally with experience of colleague and customer consultation. You’ll have very good time management skills and being able to meet deadlines will give you great satisfaction. Together with your project management experience, all these skills combined will make you really effective in the role. You will be able to build great working relationships, influencing others when needed and sharing your knowledge in a way that meets the requirements of the audience. You’ll have experience of writing and presenting reports for Boards and Committees, which will utilise your excellent written and verbal communications skills. This role is a hybrid role; you can choose to work from home or the office, it’s entirely up to you. Currently, members of the team meet in the Frome (Somerset) office on a weekly basis and although this won’t be a requirement of the role, you may need to attend an Aster office for training or to participate in a Panel. What’s in it for me We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like: Flexible working – whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them, their team, and our business’ needs. A focus on colleague wellbeing – workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, mental health training, and a health cash plan. We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks. Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance. Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back. Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more. Enhanced leave. We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised recognition initiatives, and monthly and annual awards. Ready to apply? To apply, please use information provided in the advert and role profile to let us know why you’d be good for the job. Please submit a copy of your up-to-date CV along with a supporting statement. We create an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and believe that creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do. Aster is not a sponsorship organisation and all candidates will be required to verify their right to work in the UK prior to commencement of employment with the Aster Group & its subsidiary brands.
