No, desirable only. Join us as the Trading Standards Wales Policy Officer and play a central role in shaping consumer protection and public health policy across Wales. This strategic position involves leading the development of new policies, coordinating consultation responses, and representing the collective voice of local authorities to ensure impactful, community-centred outcomes. As the primary policy officer and advocate for Trading Standards, you will collaborate with key stakeholders, including colleagues across Public Protection Services, Welsh Government, UK Government, WLGA and its Members, Public Health Wales, and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, to drive initiatives that protect consumers and advance public health. This role also entails overseeing TSW’s Annual Action Plan, facilitating best practices, and leading training programs to strengthen Trading Standards services across Wales. We are looking for a policy leader with a thorough understanding of Trading Standards and a proven track record in strategic analysis and stakeholder engagement. This is a national role requiring travel across Wales and the flexibility to engage with diverse stakeholders, offering a unique opportunity to influence the future of Trading Standards in Wales.
