In BSW we strive to use information to improve decision-making at every level. Central to this is the ability to establish an intelligence function that provides robust data and evidence on our populations to help us improve their outcomes. The Population Health Intelligence Specialist will play an important role in ensuring we use all of the data at our disposal to fully understand our population so that we can tailor services and interventions that will help to deliver the best possible outcomes in BSW. The postholder would have a strong analytical background and good technical skills allied with a good knowledge and understanding of primary and community data sets. They will have experience of population health analytics and the ability to work with groups of clinicians and managers to generate meaningful insight on their populations, helping them to measure the impact of their change work. Main duties of the job

Supporting ICB Primary and Community Care leaders, ensuring the required intelligence is generated to underpin delivery of key priorities. Develop and deliver analysis to support with an understanding of the populations served by different subsets of the BSW system. Through an understanding of our populations, provide analysis and support to Primary and Community Care with interventions developed to improve outcomes, including through Neighbourhood Teams. Support the design of key performance indicators to monitor improvements, including using Primary Care data and the BSW linked data set. Provide detailed, accurate analysis utilising a range of areas of performance, contracting, and publicly available datasets to support decision making. With support and direction, undertake data analytics to support the PHM strategy, such as segmentation and risk stratification to identify cohorts with long-term health conditions, as well as analysis of health inequalities. Responsibility for the development and implementation of effective methods of communication with a range of stakeholders so as to present, provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information and overcome barriers to understanding amongst key stakeholders. Deliver analysis and interactive reporting solutions to strategic, operational and clinical colleagues, using Power BI and other appropriate technologies. About us

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience Evidence of continuing professional development Good understanding of the NHS Commissioning system and clinical commissioning policy and practice Demonstrate record of achievement of delivering objectives to timeframes and finding innovative solutions to complex problems. Knowledge of a range of quantitative evaluation techniques, and ability to select the most appropriate method(s) and communicate findings Experience of analysing highly complex information requiring interpretation and the comparison of a range of options. Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and an ability to prioritise and to work to deadlines. Ability to demonstrate commitment to team working and use of effective team working Ability to cope and function effectively when working in a pressurised environment Ability to deliver formal presentations to large groups Communication Skills

Evidence of communicating with key project leads and senior stakeholders to understand requirements and explain findings Good presentation skills for conveying complex concepts. Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others. Analytical

Competent in use of a range of software and analytical tools Experience of handling, analysing, and manipulating large, complex datasets Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and ability to make judgements/draw conclusions Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation, working to tight and often changing timescales.
