Job summary This is an exciting new opportunity to lead the development of the Trust's Population Health Management (PHM) approach and function, working alongside colleagues across Performance & Informatics, Strategy & Transformation. Business Intelligence & Informatics capabilities are instrumental to delivering patient care through driving operational and performance delivery. The post holder will be joining our Performance & Informatics (P&I) department, which is well respected and the largest of our corporate services. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence & Informatics, Corporate Performance, Information Systems Development, Analytical Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Patient Access, and Cancer Services. The post holder will be responsible for the design and provision of population health business intelligence, to support service planning, redesign, and transformation to improve population health and reduce health inequalities. They will manage and work alongside a team of analysts to lead the improvement and use of information throughout the Trust and with external stakeholders. Main duties of the job To lead the development of a PHM intelligence function within the Trust, working with P&I Analysts and Strategy and Transformation colleagues on key PHM and health inequalities programmes. Accountable for the design, development, and implementation of new data collection systems to process and deliver PHM data and information. Accountable for the production of population health and health inequalities information and intelligence to support strategy and transformation teams. Work with analysts and BI teams within the wider ICS to create a coherent picture of population health need. Production of appropriate forecasting using modelling and statistical techniques. Job responsibilities Providing complex analysis to support Trust staff at all levels, offering guidance and interpretation. Producing comparisons, trends, summary, and narrative, ensuring methodology is documented. Utilising experience and skills to develop and improve information reporting systems. Taking an active role in the development and production of detailed reports. Providing advice and establishing appropriate reporting mechanisms. Proactively initiating information analyses and suggesting information reports. Summarising complex data sets and presenting findings to various groups. Monitoring best practice developments nationally and internationally. Ensuring high levels of customer service and adherence to Information Governance and Data Protection.
