Do you have a passion for precision and safety at sea? Can you navigate the complexities of hydrographic surveying with ease? We are currently looking for a Port Hydrographer to join our busy team in the spectacular Port of Dover! As a Port Hydrographer, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive hydrographic surveys and managing dredging contracts to ensure navigational safety and regulatory compliance. You will oversee the maintenance of vital aids to navigation and handle the port's disposal licenses and capital applications. You will also serve as the primary contact with the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and other regulatory bodies. This challenging role demands not just technical expertise in hydrographic surveying but also strong project management skills to ensure smooth and efficient port operations. Hours of Work:

Full-time, with flexibility required to meet project needs. Port Hydrographer Requirements

A degree in geography, hydrogeology, geophysics, or a related field Accredited hydrographic qualification to IHO Cat A standard Minimum of one year’s practical experience in hydrographic surveying, including inshore survey techniques Experience using multi-beam survey systems and processing associated data Proficiency in current computer systems, RTK, GPS, Autocad, sound navigation systems, and SONARs Port Hydrographer Benefits
