The Lighthouse is responsible for supporting young people aged 10-18 who are on the edge of coming into care.

We also have a six-bedroom home with 4 short to medium beds and two emergency placements for young people aged 12-17 years old.

We are seeking 2x Portfolio Leads, 1 permanent and 1 fixed-term opportunity.

You will work alongside 5 other portfolio leads, 6 residential care workers, two waking night staff, two deputy managers, and a registered manager.

There is also a psychologist and speech and language therapist who can support you day to day when working with the young people.

The role The core purpose of this job is to proactively provide the support and interventions for young people to reach their potential. The post holder will be responsible for the direct day-to-day care of young people within a residential home accompanied by other supportive tasks and duties. Additionally, the post holder will also provide support to young people on the edge of care, accommodated in various other hub placements, and care leavers (including post 18). The post holder will have the required interpersonal skills to adopt relationship-based practice, in keeping with our systemic practice model.

This role will have a designated portfolio lead within the hub’s ‘Core Offer.’ These will be rotated periodically to ensure role development.

Portfolio Lead areas are:

High risk behaviours and risk management

Accommodation and life stage transitions

Education and training

Emotional and physical health and wellbeing

Portfolio Leads will drive the action planning, interventions, and case progress for young people through effective communication with a range of professionals working together to improve outcomes for young people.

Enhancements for shifts of an evening and weekend.

Sleep-in allowances given.

Opportunity to undertake level 4 or 5 in residential services if you haven't already got this.

What's needed? Experience with children, young people, and their families up to the age of 18 years old in a care setting or another early help, family support, or social work area.

Must hold a full driving license and be able to use your car for business use.

Not a must but ideal if you have leadership experience in one of the portfolio lead areas:

High risk behaviours and risk management

Accommodation and life stage transitions

Education and training

Emotional and physical health and wellbeing
