Post-Doctoral Research Associate (Part time) (Fixed Term)

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in Prof. Sarah Teichmann's group at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. Our lab is at the forefront of the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) project, a global initiative that unites thousands of scientists to create a comprehensive reference map of all human cell types and properties. This endeavor aims to deepen our understanding of the fundamental units of life and serve as a foundation for diagnosing, monitoring, and treating various health conditions and diseases. The Human Cell Atlas is providing unprecedented insights into the identity and function of cells, revealing cellular states with unparalleled resolution and depth. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead a project focusing on resolving immune cell interactions in situ. The successful candidate will apply cutting-edge technologies and computational methods to a translational project that furthers our understanding of human disease development across age groups. We are especially interested in mapping the crosstalk between the intestinal microbiome and the host immune system, and how this promotes inflammation within lymphoid and non-lymphoid compartments in the gut and beyond. There will also be an opportunity to work on other projects and collaborate with the rest of the group. Minimum Requirements: A PhD in computational biology, immunology, or related fields is required. Start date: as soon as possible. Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 28/02/2026.
