Postdoctoral Epidemiologist
to work on a Wellcome funded project which seeks to understand the impacts of alcohol drinking on health in diverse populations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a programme of research that assesses the associations of alcohol drinking on a wide range of mental and physical health outcomes, investigates causal relevance, and explores the underlying biological mechanisms, which takes advantage of the breadth of multi-omic and phenotypic data available in large prospective cohorts including China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) and UK Biobank (UKB). Responsibilities: Analyze and interpret risk factors and/or biomarker data in relation to health outcomes. Utilize strong programming skills in a statistical language (e.g., R) for data analysis and visualization. Communicate research findings through excellent written and verbal communication. Manage time effectively and organize research tasks efficiently. Qualifications: PhD/DPhil in epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, medical statistics, or other relevant subject (or close to completion). Experience in analyzing health-related data. Strong programming skills in a statistical language. Excellent organizational and time management skills. The position is full time (part time considered) and fixed term for 3 years. The closing date for applications is noon on 21 February 2025.
