About the Role
We seek a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in cellular and molecular immunology to contribute to the delivery of high-quality research under the supervision of the Head of the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology, Professor Costantino Pitzalis.
About You
The main duty of the post is to investigate the efficacy of human peptidyl arginine deiminase 2 and 4 (PAD2 and PAD4) blocking monoclonal antibodies in inhibiting PAD2 and PAD4 activity in synovial fluids and plasma samples obtained from rheumatoid arthritis patients using different immunological/biological assays.
About the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology
The successful candidate will join a strong research team of scientists and clinicians dedicated to the development of innovative therapeutic and diagnostic approaches to inflammatory arthropathies. The emphasis is on translational research by combining the strengths and expertise of basic and clinician scientists working together. The Centre offers refurbished laboratories, cutting-edge facilities and is located in the heart of the City of London.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of May 1st, 2025. The starting salary will be Grade 4 - £37,472 - £41,123 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
